This will be the backdrop for our performance at the Nelson-Atkins
Black House Workshop #11 is now officially underway and as of yesterday we've had two rehearsals and a great tour of the ancient art at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. For this workshop each of the composers is basing their work on the ancient art and we'll ultimately be performing these works in the room with the art. The curator of this exhibit, Dr. Cohon, gave us an amazing tour of the exhibit which really helped us better understand the work and get ideas of directions we could take in relating to it.
This is the largest workshop we've ever done with a total of 18 players and it's really be exciting to have so many talented musicians in the same room working together. I don't think I've played in a band this big since college.
Nick likes the new and much darker rehearsal space
